In the begining, there was a Combaticon...

As Sinister over at Murphys recently pointed out, Brawl has something very suspicious going on about him. He's been stated as being a Con since the first leaked script (back when he was named Devestator, and later Demolisher before finally settling on the Combaticon name). He was another Minor Decepticon for the movie, one of the expendable grunts who's main function was to show up, kick butt, and die, much like Bonecrusher - in fact, almost Bonecrushers silent twin.

His part was very small, smaller even then Bonecrushers, with him being the only Decepticon who did not get a full blown action sequence to himself (Blackout getting the base assault, Barricade getting his fight with Bumblebee, Bonecrusher getting the highway chase scene), but that was balanced with his fairly cool look that even most of the haters kind of like.

He had a Delux we knew about fairly early, and that was ok. But then we find out... he gets a Leader Toy? WTF? Why not give that to Starscream or Blackout, both of which are far more deserving of the class both Charecter and Size-wise? What's going on there?

Then he was mysteriously absent during the events of the prequel novel - while the entire rest of the Decepticon cast was all there and kicking butt. Where did he go?

In the release of the final movie adaption, his charecter shows up mysteriously with no introduction, and still bearing his early script name, Devestator, but everyone else bears their final names. Why him?

And all that is added in to the fact that he is the ONLY Transformer we have yet to see in ANY Tv Spot/Trailer and ANY CG Render.

What is going on with Brawl?

Was he dropped due to his low screen time? But we've seen bits of the scene that was his in the leaked script in the trailer, and why would they make a Leader Class toy of him?

Is he just so small a part that its not worth showing him? But again, why the Leader Class?

Of have the PTB gone to great lengths to hide Brawl from us for an as-yet-unrevealed revalation, an actual surprise from the movie?

Is he Megatrons Earth form?
Is he a creation of the Allspark?
Is he a human made robot?

Brawl, who are you, and why are you so shrouded in mystery?

I think it's possible he could be Megs' earth mode, or maybe a man-made bot that Megs' spark takes over (lead into the sequel?) The leader class toy is odd for a minor character. Then again, he's a tank so I'd imagine he'd be pretty large for a deluxe (ven though he comes in that size too).

If its Megs, he's got an ugly mug.

Brawl could just show up for the final battle, so by not showing him it keeps him as a surprise, who knows?

I'm sure we will find out soon though, but yeah I am curious about Brawl.

Dropped from the movie after the filming of his live-action tank mode was completed. His role was so small that it was decided the cost of using him was a waste. Now he's just a normal tank - maybe one brought to life by the Allspark, but that doesn't transform. Hasbro had already invested in the toy design and saw no reason to drop those products from the line. And it's not like we don't already have non-movie figures in the movie line, is it?

That's what I reckon.

If Brawl turned out to be Megatron's Earth form, proving petron right, reality as we know it would collapse. I'm gonna go either with something along the lines of what Blokie said, or that he's robot designed on Earth by Sector 7. If the leaked script was altered in any significant way, that is.
