unfortunately the heads will never be like G1 heads unless someone does some exacto knife work on them. (I still can't see how people can even think protoform Starscream looks anything like G1 starscream) Really would it have been that hard to make the heads at least resemble their G1 counterparts?

Where's my Flameless Prime? Laughing Laughing

Seriously, Hasbro must be sweating it to do repaints this early. Almost like they're trying to calm fans down before the first real wave of movie toys actually hits.

Ain't no fixing Megatron, though. He's a lost cause. Laughing

If they gave Starscream a new head, why not Ratchet (his head is one of the worst I've seen on any Transformer).

The repaints looks better, but Starscream is still too ugly in his proportions for me to consider getting him. I would have got Ratchet if his head had been re-done.

*sigh*

But yes, it is interesting that these repaints are coming along so briskly..

Looks more to me like they're trying to cash in on nolstagia, rather then calming fans down.

Really, I would have expected these repaints regardless, because we all know Hasbro loves them classic-repaints (GTS Breakdown, anybody?) And considering the limited number of toys we can get from a movie with 12 bots, repaints are indeed the cheapest way to get em out on the shelf.

Now that said, Ratchet looks incredibly dull in bot mode, and that color scheme does not work in the slightest on Screamer. Both are easy passes.

Of course, I didn't intend to get the regular versions either, so...

Your incident with Protoform Screamer sour you on the line, Fwiff? Wink

I don't think G1 Screamer or Thundercracker work with the Moviescream mold, even with the new head, but Skywarp just might pull it off. I'm sure we'll get him.

Not really. I still plan to buy the toys that I had been planning to buy (such as Blackout, Bonecrusher, Ice Megatron, probably Voyager Prime, maybe Ironhide). I can only buy the best of the best this time around due to limited funds, and IMO, neither these two were up there.

I don't know why Skywarp would either. It doesn't look like a practical joker. It certainly doesn't look like a guy with doubts.

I can begin to imagine Starscream from it, but it takes work, and forsaking the 'pretty boy' part of him. But, considering Armada Starscream dropped his deviousness and that ended up being my favorite incarnation, we'll see.

But regardless, the traditional colorscheme looks way out-of-place on it. Just as bout of out-of-place as it would on, I dunno, a real jet. Wink

Fwiffo was right. I knew these where coming. Hasbro is repaint crazy!

No matter how they dress these things up, I will never buy them. And if I ever receive one as a gift, I will strap a M-80 to its back and lite the fuse! BOOM! Twisted Evil

No paintjob could save those figures. They're just too ugly and the proportions remain undesirable, especially Screamers.

For one, the painted under wing oversized cannons doesn't help in the slightest. Lose that and the vehicle mode becomes better.

For two, yeah,

.

And for three, using a more traditional aesthetic or design that allows for certain robot-mode-only parts & such to be hidden in vehicular mode gives a shot for such parts to be more colored in the traditionally thought of applications, as could have been the case with Ironhide for mere example giving an accent of red here & there.

Wink

But, on par, "that's not the way they decided to go".

Very Happy

And I'll let everyone know as soon as I can polish one until you can see your face in it. Smile
