Really I don't get it. Confused I can only assume for websites for stores that carry a variety of products from different vendors it would work as a "no longer in stock, could change, will notify" thing (that I doubt even works as I've never been told), but, for example, Hasbro; Why have a Wish List? They're the manufacturer.

On January 5th I submitted this Q back when I was still looking for Alternators Wheeljack...

Quote:
Hello,

I've searched your available websites, have this item on my Wish List here on your site, but cannot seem to find one for purchase. Is Item #: 81317 still being produced/available? If not, can it be removed from the ability to add to a Wish List?

Thank you

After letting their automatically offered nothing-to-do-with-the-question answers know I still needed my question taken care of personally, the 16th I get this message back..

(figures & collectibles).

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee product availability at any one store.

Again, thank you for your interest.

Did that answer the damn question, or even address it in any way?

And note it's the same crap I got a year & a half ago while inquiring about Nemesis Prime for the heck of it (equal on the the response time).

Also note I'm still waiting for a reply on my "Could I verify that this original toy will not be reproduced and distributed in a country such as the United States as having a realistic alternative mode (that of a Walter P-38 pistol) due to toy gun laws/bans on realistic toy firearms?" Megatron question submitted January of '06 in relation to a discussion at pre-shitcanned TFL, then resubmitted in March, then submitted once again anew in August as they'd closed it without answer.

Go Hasbro!

And why vendor Wish Lists? Confused Question

The simple answer (to every question asked) is 'lazy fuckwittery'.

It's all to do with the perception of the internet as a distribution channel.

The internet is seen by companies as 'cheap' and 'human resource efficient' (i.e they don't need humans). Therefore, they won't bother doing anything outside of scripted/automated answers and an online catalogue, as it's outside what they see as their site's remit. Hell, they're probably thinking it's enough that they've got a site at all.

Man! Buy your Transformers at eBay with paypal. That way if the f*cker doesn't give you the toy(s) you can at least get your money back by calling the credit card company then later complain in eBay so that the f*cker gets kicked out for wasting your time. Razz Twisted Evil And after all that you can go to Walmart and get a set of Transformers for just $6 and be happy to the fact that you didn't had to wait for the item to arrive at your place. Cool
