forumup's servers suck. that's what's going on.

Forumup is is so crap I got over two hundred topic reply notification emails overnight from stuff that looks to have been posted as far back as two weeks ago.

Bwhahah! Then, Blokie, maybe you should just turn off the reply notifications? Damn sure easier to just peruse the forums and threads to see the replies surely?

I use it to let me know if someone's posting.
I could just look, but on slow days it saves me going back and forth to the site to check and discover there's not anything new since last time.

And if I'm around for such a reply cascade, it's kinda cool to see fifty or so emails drop into your inbox in a couple of seconds.

I don't think forumup let you have the data for posts and member accounts and stuff if you want to leave their server.

Forumup had a massive SQL failure last night, for those of you wondering why you couldn't get into Lost. Looks like at least half the boards on Forumup were down, going by the number of complaints on the support forum. I had a growl, and got stupid answers, none of which suggested Forumup's owners give a shit.

Anyone wanna loan me an axe to take to the heads of the Forumup.com owners? *GRRRRRRRRRRRRR*

I've unlocked a board I set up as a satellite to Lost over at Proboards, TFBeyond, which I'm happy to provide the use of. Set-up's near identical to here. I was thinking we could use it as a secondary landing site anytime we're unable to land the proverbial Shuttle of The Lost here at Lost. I shall leave that decision to our Governor Cov however.

Even more bizarrely, TFL is crawling for me at the moment with Internet Explorer, so I signed out in IE, and then came back using Firefox, and it's runnin like greased lightning. Wassupwidat?

IE is not all that cool, compared to Firefox.

IE is shit compared to Firefox, but unfortunately so many websites are still optimized primarily for IE that I tend to use IE for some stuff and Firefox for others. In fact, I use IE, Firefox AND Opera, as I need to make sure my website - and any others I design - function correctly in those 3 main browsers. Only trouble with Firefox is my copy of Window Washer doesn't clear out the cache properly, so has to be done manually, and that's just a pain in the ass.

You do know about IE tab for Firefox, right? I have it, and it works good, in my opinion.
