Because if I left you all sat around patting each other on the back about how much you hate the film, it would get boring really quick? _________________

I think what most traditionalists (see i didn't say Gee-Wunners) find appealing about the older transformation is it's plausible to follow the transformation. Like a puzzle they're (myself included) able to deicpher and figure out either just visually or represented in toy form. The movie transformations seem almost too complicated at times (not saying bad, just not my cup of tea) |
Am I the only person on Earth who saw the concepts and started working out the transformations there? I can follow them - it takes more effort, but it's doable. I figured out Blackout, Starscreams and Primes transformations relatively easily, and if I wanted to, I could work out everybodies (save Megatrons, who's a special case). I haven't had any trouble following any of the transformations - it's just the same thing we've always done, except bumped up about 8 levels of complexity.

I concede on the account I haven't spent too much time figuring out the transformations. Perhaps I have and many others have grown lazy with all the recent incarnations (Alts excluded). I have never been too keen on the movie designs and I might have just lacked the ambition to figure them out.
As for people hating on Fwiff, this is a free damned world, with two sides to every coin. If we all agreed, it'd be no fun. If you treat Fwiff with respect you will get respect in return. He won't hate unless you do. It's common courtesy to concede his opinion is as valid as yours. Rock out Fwiff, glad you enjoy the new flick _________________ <center> <center><center>Have all my exorcists not yet availed To rid me of these ghostly plagues that make Life dreadful, if I sleep or if I wake ?<center> |

I can understand not liking designs because their too complex (I hate Alts because they're a pain in the ass to transform), but it really is doable to figure out the transformation schemes.

It's not that I don't like the designs because of the complexity. For me it's the almost abstract look most of them take. Megatron being the most extreme, seems almost like a mutilated chicken wire construct. Almost as if parts are being thrown around with rhyme or reason. I just think I like a more structured looking bot. The hypocrisy is that when I design something I actually go that route myself, and have a hard time creating a streamlined design.
With that said, and with this said quite a bit. I do still like Prime, and even Vortex to a lesser extent. With both there is still some semblance and definable homage to both older incarnations as well as definable (prevalant) Alt/ mode parts.
The movie itself just strikes me as an action flick. I don't like action flicks. There are always exceptions, and I will go in as objective as I can. But I've seen enough film already, read the leaked script, and am not a fan of any Bay flick (except maybe "the Rock"). So I'm still hard pressed to get excited _________________ <center> <center><center>Have all my exorcists not yet availed To rid me of these ghostly plagues that make Life dreadful, if I sleep or if I wake ?<center> |

Sweet Jebus Allmighty. You cannot tell me that they failed to capture Transformers spirit. Amazing. |
Sure I can.
But it looks like a dandy alien invasion movie ala Bay. Nice action, for sure, but it still doesn't "feel" like Transformers to me -- just Giant F'n Robots -- sorry.
|
I have to agree. It just seems to..."Hey!! Transformers!! See!! they're big robots!! Coolness!! They transform! They're hot! Lookie!! They fight! They're big! They're all metal-y!!"
Almost like they're being shoved down our throats..or..something.
I'm not sure how to explain it... _________________
