Ok, you know its out. Watch it and speak.

The first time I wasn't too impressed (thanks to the mistake of watching a shoddy quality version first) but after seeing it in whole HD glory... DAYAM. Even the most ardent hater has to admit that in terms of Butt-Kicking Giant Death Robots, this movie is going to OWN.

Yeah, I saw it in crappy quality first, too, and HD made a huge difference.

The action is awsome. Blackout rules, Prime's lips aren't as butt ugly as I though they'd be, even Shia looks right for the part. Scorpnok is... I don't get why he's there at all. Positively sucky. No Frenzy in this one, thank God. Starscream moves absolutely amazing; until I remember that his name is Starscream and think about what he's supposed to represent and what a 60ft robot mode with straight legs and in all its, say, Infiltration-esque glory would look like doing all those things Crying or Very sad.

I like the music in the second part of the trailer. The G1 transformation sound is cool, though I wouldn't mind if they left it at the BW thing they had going in the earlier trailers.

All in all, I've made my peace with this flick. I've been at this far too long not to know what it is and is not going to be like. Not what I hoped for from a film titled "Transformers" by a long shot, but great as a summer action film. I can only hope a sequel, should there be one, will be done differently.

I'm in agreement with the Doc.

There are some impressive parts. But I'm no fan of action flicks, and that's what the trailer implies. The CG looks nice. If I have one gripe (and it's a tad major) The bots' being so busy makes it difficult at times to see what's going on and telling who's who is pretty painful at times..oh and I get it...They can transform while in midair

Just saw it.

The action looks impressive, but the transformations, like Starscream and Blackout's look like they are totally cheating, morphing even. Bit disappointed in that, it's quite a cartoony effect. I see that they all still look the same, one bot could easily have been another when more than one was in shot.

I did like the shot of Optimus at Sam's window, that looked fun.

His lips, however, did not.

The cgi isn't impressing me from what I have seen in all the trailers now. It looks too fluid and cartoony, and not really photo-realistic either, odly.

Way too many humans as usual.

Just watched it again.

The transformation sound is really good, nice and clear. Good to see something Transformery made it into this empty shell of a movie.

The designs are too similar, I'm sure of that now..is that Blackout. Starscream or Megatron? Impossible to tell, but I feel vindicated on my position when it comes to the designs. Big fat fail.

I paused Blackout's city transformation and there is a huge amount of cheatin, a massive part of the side of the helicopter just vanishes completely.

You're kidding right?

-edit- I mean seriously, what do you expect from CG? This is seriously among the best CG I've EVER seen. If you aren't impressed by that, well, you won't be impressed by a CG image in your life, ever.

-edit 2-

I just double checked that. Unless you're talking about a different part, that side 'disappearing' is rising upward off the screen and folding up at the same time. No disappearing that I can see at frame-by-frame in HD.

Why am I not surprised.. Laughing

You seriously think that's the best cgi ever? SW prequel type cgi, IMO. No weight, fake-looking textures. I've been impressed by plenty of cgi, but this isn't particularly great. As far as Blackout goes, it's when he is standing up a large part vanishes to reveal his shoulder. Unless you think these designs don't cheat now.. Laughing

Seriously, just let me have my opinions without trying to brow-beat me into submission in your usual squawking manner..

Same reason I wasn't surprised at your post reaching for things to hate.

I said among. And I am hard pressed to think of some that looked better. What CG looked better to YOU?

Not seeing it at all. They look like giant freaking robots to me.

I'm not seeing it, squinting at my screen in hi-def watching repeatedly in frame-by-frame slow motion. Would you care to show me?

If they do, they worked hell of hard to keep it from being noticible.

Notice I left the rest of your posts alone, even though I think most of the other points you brought up are either wrong or too trivial to mention. It's just those struck me as particularly bad. I haven't seen anything *but* CG praise anywhere except your post, across TFLive, Murphys, and hell, AICN.

Looks like a pretty good alien invasion, summer action flick. Definitely not what I was hoping for from a Transformers movie, but that ship sailed long ago.

Have to agree that the designs are busy and it makes it difficult to tell what exactly you're looking at. Ironhide seems to be the worst in this regard.

I still hate Starscream's design, but he's surprisingly agile for an "ape." Laughing

Looks pretty OK. I'd be waaaay more excited if I didn't know about key plot points already.

Here's what the blogosphere has to say:

Well you know me. I'm not friend of this movie. But I did like this newest trailer. But of course I liked the last one too. Lost of nice special effects. I am amused by the slightly brain damaged adolescents on TFL who proclaimed "it has the best special effects ever!". These guys need to get out more. But on the whole the trailer is the best presentation of the movie so far.

Too bad all the people who bought the "concept images" line (and the liars who TOLD the "concept images" line) have finally been proven for what they are. Though I'm sure some of them will CONTINUE to say "It's still in development". The fact that we hear nothing from the robots themselves, and PLENTY from the people, is also not lost on me.

It was never a question that the movie would have good special effects. Of course I was hoping for a TRANSFORMERS movie too, but as someone else has said, that ship has sailed...........and sunk.

Just viewed the trailer for the first time now. I'm alittle surprised and have hope that there is something salvagable here. I'll probably never forgive them for the design changes but the action looks great!

I can watch it and picture in my own mind how it would all look if they only stayed true to the original G1 designs. It would have been great! 7-3-7 (the new proposed release date.) will tell all and decide the future of Transformers.

There is talk of a sequel of course and I cringe. But,... I think I have yet to see this movie in its entirety.

Sure, sure.. Laughing

There's plenty of circle-jerk threads elsewhere about the trailer so why don't you toodle along to those if you're so offended by "dissenters"". Smile

It is a good trailer, the action looks exciting. However, I and many ithers never denied that would be the case. The trailer doesn't address most of the other complaints such as characte designs, dialogue for the robots etc..

Remember: People lost their minds over the Matrix sequels, (this is particularly pertinent since the Matrix trailer also had hype about the groundbreaking fx)Phantom Menace and Godzilla trailers and look how that turned out.
