Seriously, my evil and cunning plan is thus:

Select a new template from the available ones to replace the current one. one that will allow me to design-in the elements as per what Payload and me were talking about (ie, background bar for the options up top (PMs, Profile etc), and will allow me to lessen the overly purple/lilac tone of the place.

Yeah, it would be nicer if the text could be seen better - although it isn't as invisible as it was when you first started fiddling.

Actually, I'm surprised Cov didn't go for a Beast Wars/Beast Machines look, with the TF written language all over the place.

If you go to your Profile and then to Preferences, where it says Board Style, we'll eventually have several you can choose from.

A) We're not finished with this one yet. The logo needs to change and I'm gonna colour the header bars (for example the row at the top containing links to profile etc etc - make it like the previous Decepticon purple/lilac colour, as well as all the similar bars located throughout)
B) 3 people like it, 3 people don't
C) Some people liked the previous look, some didn't - with at LEAST one person actively HATING it
D) Its a process of hit n miss and then refinement
E) Whatever you pick that appeals to one, there'll always be someone who doesn't like it
F) I'm just gonna keep this one as a skin selectable from your Profile and move on with another one once I've got this looking as I want it, that way, those who prefer this can use it, but we'll still have other options for those who don't
G) This one uses wayyyyy less bandwidth than before and is quicker loading - much handier for folks still on dial-up like our Bonham-dude
H) We are NOT gonna have a black site ie DM.net and TFLive. They look shit.
I) This current scheme is actually ripped off from Mac OS Smile

J) Again, remember this is a WORK IN PROGRESS
K) People are hard to please Wink

i like this scheme, it's very clean and easy on the eyes

except for the little icons that change colours for new posts in threads. they're icky and dont make life easy Sad

Well, according to Blokie, it "hurts" his eyes!

And yeah, those icons are bugging me, too, and I'm not 100% sure they can be changed. Sad

As with the last template, there are some real limits on what you can and can't do, design-wise. I guess thats the price we pay for using a free forum package.

I might actually look into setting one up properly so we have full creative control, but, downside to that, is forumup wont let us copy the database over, meaning, we'd lose everything on here. Sad
