It's installed (I've done it like 3X now) and IT WON'T WORK PROPERLY

Hmm. I think you have too many up to date downloads of quicktime. Try deleting/uninstall them all, then download again and try it out. Sometimes too many installed of the same media can cause problems. Or maybe you have an Apple computer. Apples have too many problems to begin with.
